Sewing and Creative Series Classes Back by Popular Request! Learn all the basics in one class! Rotary cutting, piecing, quilting and finishing are all covered in this class and you will complete a small quilted wall hanging. This is a very popular class and because we want to give you a rewarding experience, we will only take 8 students, so please sign up early! Saturday, June 7, 9:30 to 3 Kit and Materials List Class Fee $35.00 Paper Piecing Paper piecing is fast and easy. Once you learn the basics you will be able to complete more complex and intricate blocks with speed and precision. In this class you will make a small wall medallion with a summer theme! Thursday, July 10 10 am Kit included. Class Fee $25.00 Cosmetic Bag NEW!!! If you are interested in learning the basics of sewing and construction, this class is for you! This cosmetic bag is fast, easy and sew much fun that you will want to make more as gifts for all your friends! Wednesday, August 20 at 10 am Materials List. Class Fee $20.00 Applique Pat’s Way….Free Motion Applique This is a technique that Pat Rodgers developed so that she does not have to do traditional fused appliqué. It is great for garments because there is no stiffness from bonding. It is great for projects that have small pieces and allows you to use fabrics that are difficult and very heat sensitive. This is a great class for all levels and as many of you have discovered, Pat is a wealth of creative information! Bring your sewing machine and a free motion foot. Pat will provide a kit (small fee to instructor) for everything else you might need. Thursday, August 14 10 to 4 Kit provided (nominal fee) Class fee: $45 Thread Painting and Drawing with Your Needle Don’t have an embroidery machine? Or maybe you do, but would like to refine your free motion skills? This class will cover it all. The first half of the class will encompass thread painting in a unique and easy way. You do not need to be an artist, or even artistic. Pat’s method is FOOLPROOF! The second half of the class will entail drawing and sketching with the sewing machine. Easy, fun and a great way to relax. Really! Materials needed: Bring 2 14” squared of solid fabric, batting and stabilizer, super solvy and a collection of threads including green and brown and brights. Also bring your sewing machine and a free motion foot. Thursday, September 11 10 to 4 Instructor: Pat Rodgers Class fee: $45 Machine Beaded Amulet Bag Using only a straight free motion machine stitch, you will learn to embellish your own one-of-a-kind amulet bag with single beads, strung beads, individual sequins, strund sequins and flat back. Learn the techniques of machine beading and create your own cording to finish the piece. Materials needed: Bring an 8” wooden or spring hoop, sewing machine and free motion foot. A kit will be provided for the rest. (nominal fee for the kit paid to the instructor) Thursday, October 9 10 to 4 Instructor: Pat Rodgers Class fee: $45 Foiling As Surface Design You will produce wonderful special effects by bonding foil to many surfaces. Using a variety of bonding techniques, you will produce magical metallic fabrics, yarns and stitches. You will see dazzling results and depth of color! Bring your sewing machine and accessories, scissors and basic sewing tools. Pat will provide the kit, including Pat’s Wonder-flakes!
